Level 2 Coach

The Level 2 coaching course gives coaches the training to help archers progress and compete in archery, beyond their initial introduction to the sport.

Role of a Level 2 coach

By becoming a Level 2 coach, you will be able to:

  • Prepare archers for their first competitions
  • Deliver a club coaching programme
  • Take overall responsibility for beginner’s courses
  • Manage, mentor and support Level 1 coaches

To be eligible to complete the course, you need to be an Archery GB licenced Level 1 coach.

Course content

The Level 2 course builds on top of the foundations set within by the Level 1 course. Learners will work to develop knowledge and practical experience in many areas, including:

  • Coaching process
  • Sports science background
  • Equipment skills and specification (recurve and compound)
  •  Observation and analysis, including developing good technique
  • Professional qualities

Course costs

  • Central fee £110 per candidate
  • Additional cost decided on a local level to cover tutors, assessors, venue costs and local administration.
    All Lead Tutors shall be a Coach Educator or Senior Coach and the course is limited to 12 learners.
